Default Upside down rig.!

How about someone build and resale these =0. Like 1/4 price as a big company would charge like twoneil does on the 35mm lenses. I have seen some nice ones on here. Would be nice to get them cheap/.

That would be cool, maybe we could get a general consesous of what potential customers would like to see on the rigs, and also how many people would actually buy them. I could think of a number of ways to build them for cheap, so i might be interested. Here is a potential feature list:

-Mounts camera upside down (obviously)
-Adjustable for different camcorders
-lens support for 35mm lenses/adapters
-Adjustable mattebox mount
-Top handle
-Battery accesibility
-Monitor mount
-External Battery mount
-Handles (?)
-Light weight
-Ready to shoot out of the box

These are just ideas, of course, but it would be cool to see hwat you guys would want and what price you think it could be set at.

Another view with the requested handle and the lens adapter/lens/mattebox removed. Note the Lectrosonics wireless tucked in above the rods. Places to mount pretty much anything.... 1/4-20 drilled all over as you can see.

This thing is STURDY!! Pretty light too.

Koolpenguin, once it hits final we will let the "cat out of the bag." If you've been in the industry, you will definitely know this company.

The Shrigg Rig IS awesome, and it IS very close to being released!!

One of the coolest things about the Rig is its modular approach. If you don't want the top handle, you just unscrew the 1/4-20 and remove it. I've even mounted the handle as a vertical foregrip and shot it shoulder mounted.

Default Shrigg Rig

Right now it is out for final revisions. When I get it back I will take extensive photos.

The Shrigg Rig consists of an 18" Carbon fiber 15mm rod system, and "The Chief" aluminum flip bracket. The bracket securely holds the lens adapter with 4 rubber tipped pressure pins. This is a very solid flip system because it holds the lens adapter and the camera as a unit so there is virtually no flex or play when everything is in place.

It will be sold as a complete system including the 15m rods. "The Chief" flip bracket may be available separately for those that already have a rod system.

very cool. i'd like to see a tripod thread on the actual bracket though, so no need for rods at all. i mean i use rods myself but compactness is also cool.

Hey I love this!! I have ordered a Canon Mount Vibrating 35mm DoF Adapter from Worley today, but also placed an order on Amazon for a Manfrotto MN293 telephoto support. Do you think it'd be wise to use rods instead, as I'd love to get hold of "The Chief" and then I guess rods too... ?

So I guess in a roundabout way of asking... would the Shrigg Rig work with Worley's Adapter (don't see why not) and how much would the rig be? (Also when do you think this may be available?)

Cheers,

Nice. I've been looking out for the announcement of your Shrigg Rig Flip since you mentioned it on another thread.

I like that the battery is still accessible, too.

The handle is a nice feature and having the bracket tripod mountable would be another bonus and would probably bring costs down for people who want to invest in your rig on an entry level.

15mm rods are the industry standard, so if you want to add accessories like Matte boxes etc. they are definitely the way to go. Plus they make for a very pro looking rig

Yes, this system will work with Worley's adapter. It is large enough to fit pretty much anything short of a Red Rock. Projected price for entire system with 460mm carbon fiber rods TBA tomorrow.

Shrigg, Can this be handheld? because it looks like the rails stick out quite a bit in the back. Also have you mounted a monitor on top of your design?

Otherwise it looks awesome and i might consider it.

Your set up in those pics is nice, what parts are on it?

also, why do you have the HD acromat? Twoneil's adapter fits on that camera. Unless your making it so you don't have to zoom in.

*Dang, i totally didn't look at the name, thought you were shrigg, sorry. Disregard the twoneil statement, but please answer the other questions.

STATUS UPDATE: I spoke with the manufacturer today and the revised version is planned for production over the weekend. I should have it back for final testing midweek. Once I give the go ahead that all is well then production will begin and orders will be able to be taken.

I have ASKED and ASKED for pricing info on behalf of all the requests here and PM's I've received. Price shall be finalized this weekend too, 1) for complete system with 15mm rods and 2) for "rodless" lite version.

THIS IS GETTING PRETTY EXCITING!!!
