Default FS: Prism Finder (Automatically flips 35mm Adapter Footage WITHOUT hacking your HV20)

Hello,

I’m selling my Mamiya Prism Finder that could be used to flip the image of a depth of field adapter WITHOUT having to hack or flip your camcorder upside down.

I learned about this awesome idea from user “fantomaz” in the thread below (see post #20). The way it works is simple. You attach the Prism Finder to the LCD screen of your HV20/30 and it automatically flips the vertical and horizontal image for you….no hacking necessary and no need to flip the camera upside down. Please note the following two things: in order for it to flip the image properly when using a 35mm adapter you need to make sure the LCD screen is angled between 45 to 90 degrees (see photo in thread). Also when using this prism you lose about 2mm of the visible image on each side of the LCD screen. However, the fact that the prism makes manual focusing much easier, more than makes up for that in my opinion. Attaching it to the camcorder is very simple….all you need to do is use some heavy duty velcro. AS A BONUS I will include plenty of heavy duty velcro for FREE.

http://hv20.com/showthread.php?t=17233

This is an awesome accessory that can help you avoid hacking/flipping your camera if you are willing to spend some time making it fit your camera. The only reason I’m selling mine is because I just realized I have a portable DVD player that I can use as a monitor.

B&H Photo sells this exact same model for about $300.00 Shipped here:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc..._Metered_.html

To be honest I got an excellent deal on mine so I’m going to share the wealth. Mine is in LIKE NEW condition with no scratches on the mirror. You will receive the prism and the protective cap. I will sell it for $85 Shipped (Insurance Included) to anywhere in the lower 48 states. I accept PayPal and I ship fast (usually within 24 hours).

If you have any questions just let me know.

Take care,

Mark

Hi,

What you are getting looks exactly like the picture at B&H. I will try to upload a pic tomorrow if I have time. I noticed you are located in the Philippines...as a heads up I can only ship in the United States (lower 48).

Take care,

Mark

How exactly do you attach this to the viewfinder with velcro? Do you have an image of that? Do you cut thin strips of velcro and put them on the top and bottom of the viewfnder? Thanks.

Vaporseo,

Here is a photo that was taken by user "fantomaz". Like I said before it may take some time to initially configure the velcro properly but once you do it correctly you are good to go. Also as I mentioned you lose about 2mm of the visible image on each side of the LCD screen...but the benefit is that it makes manual focusing easier and of course it flips the image correctly.

Take care,

Mark

I have that viewfinder and the Mamiya Pro 645 that goes with it. I can't believe it hasn't sold yet. At $75 you're practically giving it away.

CycleWriter,

Yes, you are right when you say this is a steal. If I didn't need my school books I wouldn't be selling this baby for this price.

Bluesgeek,

PM replied to.

So it flips the LCD but you still have to flip the image in post? Would it work if you had a 35mm adapter that was upside down, so that you don't have to flip it in post?

Hello,

My apologies....I did not see your question until now. To be honest I'm not sure about that. I will try to test it out later today if I have a chance. At the moment I thought the item was pending sale to bluesgeek but I haven't heard from him in a couple of days. I will update this thread later tonight for anyone else who is interested.

Take care,

Mark

Well, I just went to paypal and found that the only card I've got on there is an account I no longer use. I added another card, but I have to wait for paypal to send me the confirm link, which they say can take 2-3 days. I know you are looking for the money quickly, and I don't want to hang you up, so feel free to put it back up for sale.

Hi Dave,

No worries. It is still yours if you want it. I don't mind waiting a couple of days to get it sorted out. I will send you a PM in a second.

Take care,

I got it today. Thanks for the quick shipment.

I will say this for it. It magnifies the lcd to the point that the pixel grid is clearly visible. Used with "peak", I think this facilitates the best focusing you can get with the HV lcd.
