This thread will always have all of the current HV40 pricing on the FIRST page, so you won't have to search to find out what's available.

I will TRY to update this post at least once a week. If you have items to be added to this list, please PM me the info so I can add it to this post during my next update. If you do not PM me, don't expect the deal to make it to this post.

Also, the retailer MUST have a good reseller rating to make this list! I have provided a link to the company's reseller rating by clicking on the company's name!

Try to include a link in your PM, so I can transfer that to the first page. If there is no link, at least please include all important info such as Store, Online/Instore, price, expiration date, coupon code (if applicable). It will also be helpful to PM me about when a deal is expiring so I can update it accordingly.

Just FYI...

The in-store price was $999. The online store price was $850.

I was initially told by the clerk helping me that they couldn't combine the 10% off coupon with a "price match" of the online price.

I was then told that the coupon fine print specified it was for in-store prices only.

I pointed out it actually said "In store only." implying it was in-store use only, but said nothing about price-matches.

I had to go through 2 lots of managers before the store manager finally, and very very reluctantly, gave me the deal.

Mentioning that people on this forum had previously got the deal seemed to be a big help. So did saying "Look, I've come here to buy this thing. Do you want $765, or $0 of my money?"

So, if they push back when you try to combine the coupon and the online price match, be firm!

Well, I gave up on the coupon but got the web price. They didn't budge, period. I was thinking about ordering from B&H but then either I had to wait days until I got it delivered and possibly pay some shipping fee (though very low as I'm in NYC) or go up to Midtown West to do it personally. Didn't really like either and for the extra $50 - there's no way they would honor my SMB rax free account with web price + coupon, that's for sure - I can bring it back if somehow I change my mind in the next 14 days.

I've been lurking for a few weeks; nice forum you have here.

I wanted to say "Thanks!" to RScottyL for posting this thread and keeping the links updated; he helped me purchase my HV30.

I purchased my HV30 today from Circuit City and the $30 off coupon worked perfectly. Brand new HV30 for $820 shipped, from a reputable etailer? I'd call that a darn good deal. Free shipping too!

I've spent several hours a day for the past week trying to find the cheapest price. But any cheaper price was at a place that had too many negative/questionable ratings on Resellerratings.com and a few bad posts on forums as well. I was so sure that by the time the coupon became valid, CC would be sold out. Doesn't it typically work that way?

But much to my happy surprise, the deal/coupon was good and they had stock. Confirmation email already received from them.

I'm a total beginner compared to most of you guys. I've been using a Canon Elura 100 and Vegas MS Platinum for a couple of years now. Made some DVDs for the family/friends/coworkers but nothing professional. I do enjoy shooting and editing though, so I figured it was time to move up to a real camera. Looking forward to learning from and interacting with you.

They do charge sales tax which will probably put it back to around $741.00 - still good price.

They charges sales tax in certain states only. IL for sure. I bought two HV30's from them at $688 earlier this year. No sale tax

yeah there was no tax for me here in NY.. that's the problem with b&h and the other NY based ones for me. i always get zapped with the tax at the end. it was a nice change of pace to find a place with no tax for once!!
