A Question About Sony MiniDV HD Tapes
Hey guys,
I'm very excited that my camera came in the mail, and I still have to go buy some tapes and other things along that line.
But I have a quick question that is probably pretty easy to answer...
I'm interested in buying Sony MiniDV HD tapes for my hv20, and there the most expensive (probably best quality).
But I heard that they are wet tapes and there are dry tapes, and I dont know the difference. But I've read the manual, and they instruct you to use DRY head cleaning tapes, and the use of WET head cleaning tapes will mess up the camera.
I dont know if the same thing will happen with WET sony minidv tapes or just WET cleaning tapes.
Can someone enlight me?

1 there is tons posted on this forum about this, do a search.
In essence, you don't need to use HD tapes.
What ever you choose to use don't mix brands.
Sony used to be wet but just changed their lubricant.
Most of us here are happy with these, I use both:

Sony's use of "wet" tapes is a myth, as it's something they used to do in the past. They now use dry lubricant like everyone else.
Here's a link that should help..
