Does anyone know a seller on Ebay who sells real legit aftermarket batteries at the advertised mah? I bought a 2400 mah battery and it runs out of life much quicker than my stock one and it's a 1/3rd larger. Obviously, I'm poor and can't afford the real deal oem- so if anyone has any tips, i would greatly appreciate them.
If it's only 1/3 larger than the original Canon 2L13 battery, then it's not 2400 mAh... my aftermarket 2400 is almost double the size, and it really, really lasts...
Try LA Color, i.e. Taky's website. He has a good reputation
It appears every single one of my batteries has crapped out and will barely hold a charge. The legit Canon brand batteries disappointed me the most. The cheapos were great for a couple of gigs, but konked out after a few cycles. I'm not a frequent shooter, so maybe they didn't get enough of a workout. After a couple of years, what batteries seem to have the best shelf life and are the most dependable when you need them? I don't even really care that much of they last longer than an hour any more. As long as I can count on them for a full tape, that would be a step in the right direction.
That's the problem.. .that you don't use the regularly. Li-ion batteries are like that. If you left them untouched, then it will lose it capacity to hold charge. However, once you start using the battery again, you can see it will last a little bit longer and longer each time. Maybe about 5 to 10 recharge/deplete cycles, it will go back to it's full capacity. So those that you have, don't throw 'em away yet.
Ebay can be hit or miss even at it's best. I certainly would not trust them on batteries. There's just too much instability and virtually no quality assurance in the battery business. Even if you get a guarantee, good luck getting a no-name manufacturer to honor it.
It is best to store Li-ion batteries half-charged (or half-empty, if you're the pessimist type...)
Bought a couple of 7.4V 2400mAh Canon Replacement batteries from a seller in China. Had no problems with them, they both last for around 4 hours. Been using them for a few months now in the camera, as well as my modified PRO-160 camera light.
This might be a dumb question, but where can I buy a non-generic battery for my Canon Vixia HF20? I ask because my camera's original battery died in the last week and the replacement battery I was given is a Chinese knock-off that the camera can't communicate with.
Thanks.
I have two type of BP-827 battery.
This one is cheaper. It will not talk to the camera about remaining battery level. However, the battery itself has a button with 4 LED indicators showing the remaining level.

This is the other one which functions just like the stock Canon battery

Lunchbox, I'd like to buy a BP-2L24H and a charger, but need it on or before 1.6.12. Can you help me with this? It's going to 33418.
Thanks!
What would be the ETA on standard shipping?
