pretty cool premise, you should try and use a muzzle flare for your gunfire, i can see the little flames or whatever, so it kinda took away from the realism a bit for me.

Unfortunately I don't have any video on the internet to prove it, but I've done alot of post-production muzzle flash work, and I've been very happy with my results. Pop in The Matrix and watch the lobby shootout scene frame-by-frame and look at the muzzle flash very closely. Each round fired from a gun creates a flash that lasts for only a single frame, sometimes with a greatly reduced effect for a second frame. I extract every frame that I want to have a muzzle flash, bring it into Photoshop and draw the flash on a new layer. The flash is almost completely white, but create a colored area first, usually yellow/orange. Use the smudge tool to shape the muzzle flash that matches the direction the weapon is being fired. Then create another layer and draw a white area that you can smudge out to the same shape, only a little smaller so that your flash is white, with a colored border. Mess with the opacity of both layers until it looks like it was there to begin with. Like I said, you must use real reference material to get a realistic looking, proportionately sized muzzle flash. It looks like you really enjoy SFX, so I thought I'd help out.

EDIT: If you post an untouched frame of your movie I can throw a muzzle flash on it.

EDIT: I must be too NOOB to be able to post pictures, so here are the links.

I took the initiative and grabbed this frame.

After a few minutes I had this.

Don't hesitate to make your flashes huge. I own an AK-47 and it looks like it was a humid day from your footage. I can tell you that muzzle flash is gonna be big.

I don't think there is a smudge tool in AE. As far as I know, Photoshop files are cross compatible. So you could draw this stuff up on your laptop, then throw all of your work onto a thumb drive, and import the raw PSD files into After Effects on your Mac. It would take a little time, but as far as I'm concerned, anything worth doing is worth doing right. By the way, I thought the face transformation effect was great. Keep doing what you're doing.
