    Default Run&Gun Letus35 Mini

    Hi all

I have a quick question...I am not sure if you have answered this one before. But here it goes. I have read most of the info about the 35mm adapters...and I must say, I am a little lost. I love the look the 35mm is giving, what I need to know, with theLetus35 Mini...can I achieve the same look. Now the real question...is the flip, will the letus35 Mini flip the image, and if so will I need a external monitor. The reason for this, I want a run&gun camera set up,and can this be done with the hv20. The letus35 mini looks good....put the price. If there is a cheaper way to get a Run&Gun setup like the letus35, please let me know...if not, I guess you have to pay to play. One other thing what lens should I get...thanks for all the help.

For "Run&Gun" you probably require a zoom lens. Primes restrict you to a set focal length.

The letus mini is flipped, so the image is recorded on your camera 'up right'.
And yes, the "look" is the look of a 35mm adapter, that being the 35mm slr lens' depth of field is received.

A reason some users get an external monitor is to assist with focussing as the HV20 built in lcd is tiny. However, if you are shooting in a "Run&Gun" way that doesn't allow for you to measure focus, then maybe a 35mm adapter is not for you anyway. Unlike a lot of video conditions, 35mm adapters make depth of field a reality with a lot less room for error - accurate focus is critical.

Wow some setup. Well this is a little beyond me right. Is there any other way to get the depth of field like a 35mm would give you.

you could build your own small adapter with nikon tubes, use cavision rods, and a tokina 24-40 or 35-70 zoom. that will make your rig small and cheap.

I'm hoping I'll be able to post a link to a short that will most likely include some shots from the Tokina 24-40mm ... uh ... soon!
