Hey, Nice new post on vimeo! really enjoyed seeing your setup!
    Only questions:

The battery you're using there, I'm ideally wanting something like that to power my equipment for day trips where I wont have power. Where did you find yours?

And that monitor! tell us about it.

The batteries i use are tekeon MP3450 and can be found here :

    http://www.tekkeon.com/site/products-mypowerall.php

as for the monitor its based on bruce allens monitor ( it uses the same board and LCD ) and i just created the case around it and bolted it to a tripod head so i could move it as neccessary. This is wehre i boaught and is the EXACT same kit :

    http://www.manhattanlcd.com/ProductD...oductCode=1001

and i must say with this monitor i get razor sharp focus its awesom.

This is my first post. I won't bother you, I know what's going on. Here's my 30:

Not my actual set-up (as I have none of this at the moment), but what my future rig will hopefully look like:

Replace the HV20 with the 30, the 501hdv head with a 503hdv, and add a DXA-2S hooked up to an NTG-2 with a pole setup and that's my baby (hope, hope).

And mine.... Nothing fancy or elaborate yet. But I love the black.

You can find it at this site (if you're talking about the Matteblox DV):

    http://www.cinetactics.com/StoreFront.bok

For under $200 for a full kit, I'd say it's definitely a nice looking item. Though, at this point I've decided to go with an Indian mattebox from TheCineCity ($130 shipped from eBay, plus a more pro-looking, professional build). Here it is:

It looks much better than in this pic, but this is all I could get off a quick Google search.

EDIT - Also, I've decided to go with the Letus35 Mini (my original adapter of choice) instead of the SGpro/Follow Focus combo pictured above. So yeah, that's not what my set-up will look like when all is said and done, actually. Far from it.

It's the Raynox HD-6600PRO-52mm with a 43mm/52mm step-up ring. I really like the lens. Extremely small amount of curvature in the image, although it does blur some at the very outer portion of the image on the left and right side. But for the price, it's as good as it gets I think. I got it on Amazon for around $109.00 plus shipping. It sells for more at other places.

Crazy, what time of Mic is that and what type of range do you get on good quality sound. I am videotaping a wedding and am trying to decide on which shotgun mic I should get so I can hear everything that the bride/groom/pastor are saying. Thanks!

I don't know, and that's not my setup pictured (just what it was gonna look like, before I decided to change some things around). That pic was posted on the SGpro boards.

    In the pictures:
    Camera: HV30 NTSC
Mic: Rode SVM with DC on (and a little cloth inside to block motor noise)
    Lens: Raynox 6600HD (with a 43mm -> 52mm step up ring)
    Tripod: Joby's Gorillapod SLR-ZOOM

I used a little hair spray to keep the hairs of the DC out of the view of the camera and it works well.

I also own the manfrotto 676B monopod + 3229 head.

Nice rig! By chance you're not encountering vibration noise to your Videomic having it mounted on the camera? I'm using a Brevis35 MP.1 and I found that the Videomic was picking up the vibration when mounted on camera.

Here's my rig, still a work in progress:

    HV30
    Brevis35 MP.1 w/flip mount & Cinevate carbon fiber rails
    Nikkor 50mm 1.4
    Juicedlink CX231
    Audio Technica AT4073a w/Rode SM3 Shock Mount
    Velbon DV-7000
    Sima Quick Release Plate
    Sima Video Bracket

My 52mm-72mm Step up ring should come by tomorrow so I'll see if I can use my Cinetactics Matteblox DV.

The HV30 finally arrived... a week late and completely missed my trip to Cannes, but it's here now. Fantastic first impressions of this cam - my only slight annoyance is the ridiculous and unnecessary amount of logos and slogans written all over the body. The sure sign of a consumer product in my opinion and really cheapens the look a bit, although for some reason my model doesn't have "VIXIA" on the side which is something I suppose.

So, I slapped on a Fotodiox lens hood and an external mic and now it's looking more like a pro camera in miniature! However, the mic is a really cheap and nasty thing that I've had hanging around for years - does anyone know of a decent mic of similar shape and size?

    Anyhoo... here's some initial photos:
