    Unhappy BeachTek XLR adapter problem

Hi everyone. I hope someone can help me.

I just got BeachTek XLR adapter for my HV20. I get no signal....In otherwords..the litle MIC icon in the lower left corner of the viewscreen reads as there is no MIC attached. The little "M" for manual icon does not show up for making adjustments. Basically no sound allowed.
Of course when I disconnect the mic, I get the internal mic just fine.

Is there some setting I must set specifically to use it?

Maybe someone can give me some insight.

    HELP ASAP

I'm doing this all by memory. So I might be off a step or two

    Go to the main menu.
    Down 2 then over
down unitl you see "audio input" (something close to that)
    Select
    the menu will change
    Selecet "external mic"

I think thats it. I don't have my HV20 in front of me. SO I can't tell you verbatem. But that should take care of your problem.

Another solution would be... try turning the volume pots all the way up. and if you are using a DXA-6 put a Batt. in.

If you have other XLR mics try those. mayyyyyyyybe its your mic... I doubt it.

    Hope this helps!

what is the model number of the beachtek you are attempting to use because you might be using a mic that requires phantom 48 power with an adapter that does not provide it
