Default How can I export video from Vegas 8?

I'm a newbie in HDV editing and trying to use Sony Vegas 8 to do the editing. I'm thinking to burn the edited video into DVD, do you guys have any idea?

    File - Render As...

The settings you use for "render as" can vary widely (sorry, I know that doesn't help much).

Then burn the resulting file to DVD using NERO or Architect or other DVD authoring software

For DVDs, there are templates you can use in the "render as" screen.

    Thanks a lot guys.
The "render as" is the actually place I was confusing about.
    1. If I want to burn the video into NORMAL DVD, which file type should I pick? AVI? If it's AVI, what kind of type should I pick (NTSC DV, uncompressed or some else)?

    2. Is that possible that I burn a "HD DVD" or "Blue-ray" compatible DVD which holds the HD video (AVCHD, or H.264?). Of course the length may reduce to 20-30mins, but I hope I can have those "DVDs" that can be play on computer and HDDVD (or Blue-ray) player in the future.

    1. No, it's the mpeg2 filetype, not the AVI one. When you select that, there are new templates appearing, select the right one for your DVD region.

    2. If you own Vegas 8 Pro, then yes, you can burn a Blu-Ray-compatible high-def footage in plain DVD discs. But you can't do that with the Platinum edition, or with HD-DVD.

Eugenia, thank you. I don't remember I have the mpeg2 option for the render as, I will check it after work.
