Thread: Slight Tape Rewind

    Default Slight Tape Rewind

When I hit stop after finding the exact spot on the tape I want the tape to start recording I here the camera rewind the tape a few seconds. Does anyone know if it will start exactly where I stopped the tape when I start recording again?

I use end search in the play menu to make sure no overlap in recording will occur.

Me too, but End Search only works if you don't eject the tape. Once you eject the tape End Search no longer function.

I have had the same problem. I keep different tapes for different projects so I lose the End Search as soon as I change tapes. Not found a solution even though the tape counter picks up the count when I rewind the tape.
My editing software does not care, it just picks up the scenes as they are presented, I do have to set up a new file every time I download a load of tape but this is compensated by the fact that I can call the files in any order when I am downloading to the timeline in the Edit phase. Canon do say that removing the tape causes the End Search not to function. Why can't they arrange for the camera to pick up the tape count when the new tape is inserted?
