Default Anyone use a Olympus TCON 1.7X Teleconverter on a HV20?

I'm on the verge of getting a HV20, and noticed that it has 43mm threads. Has anyone tried using an Olympus TCON 1.7X TC on this camera? I have one from my old Olympus days, and wondering if it will work well or at all with this camera. It's attachment threads are 43mm as well.

Default Olympus TCON 1.7x tele for the HV20

I am looking into getting one too - as its more easily available than the TL-H43 in Australia. Is there anyone else who has tried using it with the HV20?

I have an Olympus B300 1.7x (55mm threads) I can test if that's close enough.

Default Olympus tcon 17 or B300

Does anyone know if either of these work ? These should be much better quality than the canon or raynox ones as Olympus is known for quality tele's

I offered to run a test with the one I have. What would you like to see?

Vignetting, definitely due to the wide end of the HV20/30. You aren't going to zoom through the full range with any tele lens. Goes away as you zoom out. Purple fringing? Hmm. You tell me.

Just for you, I just went outside and did a PDQ video of a tree, backlit, to see if there was fringing. This was a quick test with the camera on full auto (P-mode). No manual settings, no editing (except the sound), etc.

Just uploaded it so it may take a few minutes: http://www.vimeo.com/1610916

    Default Wow

That is what I'd call quality. Good detail..And it seems to be usable after 5x zoom which is fine.
I reckon this is better quality that the more expensive Canon zoom.. I'm getting one..

Glad it helped. If you need to see another test, holler.

This is the kind of interaction and helping each other attitude that I love to see. Incidentally, for those who need tele, it looks like you have a winner.

I purchased the Canon tele and to tell you the truth, I haven't found a need to use it yet.
