    Default Film look, Vegas Platinum

    Hey Guys,

I have my footage shot at PF24, and did the pulldown to 24p using Eugenia's awesome tutorials.

Does anyone have any settings they frequently use in Vegas Platinum Movie Studio to give it a polished film look on their 24p footage?

Yes, make sure the project properties of Vegas are correct, e.g. your pulldown'ed 24p footage is loaded as progressive on Vegas and at 23.976 frame rate, and the resolution is right etc.

Might be an idea to disable resample on scenes that have lots of motion on the timeline too (right click, properties). Other than that, nothing else. Just color grade your footage to look better.

Where are Eugenia's tutorials? I have Vegas on order (along with a new computer to load it on). I am old enough that I have zero non linear editing experience. My last editing was A/B roll editing between Betacam SP decks using Amilink computer control with a NewTek Toaster!!

    Eugenia,

Thanks! I just read part of it and it is exactly what I am going to need to get my feet wet and start finding out how to do things.
