Default A few questions about sound...

Okay, so i wan't better sound quality for my movies. Here are some questions

    1. I've been reading these forums, and I've found out, that 2 mono shotgun mics would work.....why two?

    2. Also, i thought, couldn't i get the best sound quality, if i just recorded my sound seperatly? What are my options for doing that, and how much should i expect to pay?

What level of movie are we talking? Home movies ?

From what I've read youve got a few options.

1 - Std mic on camera recorded on minidv cassette

2 - Rode Videomic plumbed into HV20 with audio recorded to minidv

3 - Boom mic into external audio recorder

Plus various options around those. All with different costs and complexities.
