Ouch. I don't know how I missed this--seeing that I've been monitoring the deals on the HV20 (as well as other items in my Amazon cart) for the last two weeks. I was debating between going with B&W's $750 (with the $75 gift card) and Amazon's $705, but $674 would have been a no brainer.
In fact, I was ready to buy it this morning at $705, but it's gone.
Ok, how does this Amazon refund work? I bought my HV20 about a week ago for $709 (sold and shipped by Amazon). Now it is for sale on Amazon for $697.88 (sold and shipped by Electronics Express) - which is a little more then what sa_abcdef shows it was yesterday. So, will Amazon Refund based on a low price of a third-party seller, such as Electronics Express??? Or, if I call Amazon at the 30th day from which I bought my HV20 will they tell me the lowest price it's ever been in that 30-day period and refund me the difference? Or do I have to tell them the exact time and what that low price was??? If I called Amazon right now and told them it was "$674.88 @ Amazon 4:00PM PST SUNDAY 12/16/07" would they honor that? I've never taken advantage of Amazon's refund policy. Thanks! Looking forward to posting some footage - once I get my firewire cable

Amazon will not refund for purchases thru third party. To PriceMatch refund from amazon, you should buy from amazon. And you will have upto 30 days from purchase date for Price Match.
I got mine for 705, called, got the refund. Also, I opened an Amazon credit card, ended up getting the camera out the door for 644. Woot!
Ok, but will Amazon refund down to the price of a third-party? ie: I bought my HV20 from Amazon. But the low price is that of a third-party. So, will Amazon refund me down to the third party's low price???

It has to be in effect, But you can give a shot. Tell them you tried calling them....but it was too long wait on phone; & you went on a business conf... bla bla...its your luck & how u handle it
Wow! I actually got my refund! I emailed Amazon yesterday requesting a refund of $34.12 - the difference between what I paid of 709 and the lowest price mentioned above of 674.88! They just emailed me this morning saying they will refund my credit card $34.12! Cool! Thanks for all the info, guys & gals!

Ordered mine on Dec 8 for $711.58 ... with free overnight shipping.
Since the 8th was a Saturday it didn't ship until Monday ... but by that time the price had dropped to $700.15.
I took a shot at the latest price of $674.88 ... wrote to them yesterday ... three days after that price was posted.
Got my confirmation this morning .... my price was reduced by $25.27.
So .... $674.88 with free overnight shipping.
For items like this you can't beat Amazon ... the 30 day price protection program is a real deal maker.

I've been contemplating it for 2 days and thought I missed out on a deal but asa it came up I ordered 1 and took the 1 day shipping!
Didn't want to take the chance and miss it...
Also, I bought a bag off Ebay for it. I already have a large backpack for my Rebel XTi slr and my HV20 will fit in it so I got a Kata GDC S-312 for $35 for when I want a light load....
Now, if I can just find a deal on some good DV Tapes....
