Default Game # 449 - The Andromeda Strain

    Game version 1

    One picture from one movie:

    Rule 1:
NO IMAGE HOSTING ON EXTERNAL SERVERS.
Images for the games need to be ATTACHED to the post, and thus uploaded to our server.

    Rule 2:
TWO GUESSES PER PERSON PER POSTED PICTURE!!! Those two guesses are not allowed to be in the same post, NOR in a consecutive post. I.e. you can post one guess, then have to wait for someone else to guess: your second guess is not allowed to be immediately following your first guess.

    Rule 3:
The WINNER of the game can start a new game IN A NEW THREAD.
NO ONE ELSE (unless yielded so by the winner).

    Rule 4:
Once there's a winner, PLEASE post the correct name into the thread (spelled correctly, and capitalized correctly, and not in italics or bold face.)

    Rule 5:
The correct title format is: "Game" / space / "#" / number.
    Example: " Game #12" (without the ")
(no space between the # sign and the number!)

    Rule 6:
The film selected should be one that has had an international, theatrical release.
I.e. a made-for-TV movie only shown in the USA would hardly be a fair entry, as
    we have international players also.

    Rule 7:
These complete rules (1 to 7) have to be copy & pasted into each new game's first post.

No clues yet - but this location should tell you something:

Yes, but that's not the film.

    Clue: Based on a novel...

Climbing at 5000 feet per minute? That would take something like an NF-104 flown by Chuck Yeager - The Right Stuff?

Last grab for tonight, and another clue: The same story was also made for TV.

I'm having a tough time coming up with any good guesses, so I'll throw a bad one out there:

Yes, that was a B*A*D guess.

New grab, and a good clue: The novelist is pretty famous. About a dozen of his novels have been filmed.

Yep. It was the "sapient" that did it.

The Andromeda Strain is correct. Krute, too, appears sapient.

Heh, thanks, Mister J. That's high praise indeed, coming from the guy who thought of the clue in the first place!

I loved that movie. But sure didn't recognized those screen grabs. Very sneaky!

    Me too.

The whole thing is on YouTube, in 14 parts... In fact, when considering what to use for the game, I thought of movies I had liked, and found it there.

Personally, I much prefer "suspense" over "action" movies - the latter have got quite ridiculous nowadays.

You'll have to talk amongst yourselves for a while, folks. I regret to say I haven't got a new game ready, and I won't have time to make for about 12 hours. So if anyone is really keen and has one ready to go, feel free to go for it. Appy polly loggies, O my brothers.

Andromeda Strain was the first game I won back when this was a new thing. I guess I wasn't expecting to see it again
