Got the Xlink box and programmed it all up.

It's a pretty slick system I have to say! We have all 3 cell phones connected to it and the house phones all have a distinctive ring for each cell phone so you can tell who's phone is ringing. The caller id even works through the house phones!

Dialing out through a house phone is pretty neat too. The outgoing call is automatically routed through the first cell phone on the blue tooth list, but you can also choose which phone to dial out on as well. Just hit the number on the list (2 for the second cell phone) then hit the flash button. You can save "2F[phone number]" in the contact list on the phone so that you don't have to manually choose the phone you want all the time. The call waiting also works. If you're talking on cell 1 and someone calls on cell 2, you get the traditional beeping indicator.

It all works almost exactly the same as with the house phone. If anyone else plans on traveling this road too then I highly recommend it!

Interesting. It's not quite the same thing though. The xlink box is simply a blue tooth gateway for cell phones (up to 3 of them simultaneously) and gates them to your home phone(s).

As for keeping the old number... that's exactly what we DIDN'T want! Most if not all of the phone solicitors are expected to die when we kill this number/line
