I believe the HV series can play and capture tapes from any HDV camera. It's the same format after all.

They will play but use caution about mixing tape brands, that is unless you use the same brand for both cameras. Not all tapes use the same lubricants and mixing more than one brand in one camera can be potentially bad for the tape heads.
