Default Can an HFS100 Playback an Edited File?

Hi. Been awhile since I've been here. I'm trying to put an edited file on the memory card and have it playback on my HFS100.

I have tried matching the exact same properties of an original MTS file from the camera but not having much luck with it.

    Can it be done?

I seriously doubt it. The problem is all those "support" files the camera creates when you record video. For playback they tell the camera the things it needs to "know" to display your clips. When you edit your material the computer does not generate those files.

I tried it with my HF100s and couldn't get it work.

I have done it. Will see if I can find my notes. The structure is the same as Blu-Ray.
Also (as far as I can remember, it's been a long time since I used it) Pixela that came with the camera can do it but it took for ever.

Will get back to you if I can find it.

OK here is how I did it. Don't know if it will work with an other editor:

Nero Vision 5 (Part of Nero 8)
Make AVCHD > Hard Disk Folder
    Add Video Files
    Next
Menus to use: Do not create menus
    Next
    Next
    - Audio Smart Encoding ratio: 100.0 %
    - Video Smart Encoding ratio: 100.0 %
    Write to Hard Disk folder
This creates the same structure as the camera in a BDMV folder.
Replace the BDMV folder on the SD card with this one.
I’ve only just tried this once but it worked perfectly.
This did not work with Nero 9.

Of course, it should work. The idea behind AVCHD was that soccer moms could burn their stuff directly to BD without the pesky editing in between. The only difference is the BD menu...
"It is dark the other side. Very dark!" - "Oh, shut up and eat your toast!"

    Thanks for all the replies!

It's not a life and death situation, believe me. I could put the files on a jump drive and play them anywhere.... EXCEPT at someone's house who doesn't have a computer. So, I figured if I could put the files in the camera I could then hook it up to their TV.

I don't have NERO but I did experiment with TSMUXER. I added the file then use the BLU-RAY option. It did create a folder that looked very similar to the HFS's folder. Something came up and I had to drop what I was doing but I will make another attempt someday.

I do want to thank you again for your help.
