Default Which bitrate should I use? MXP? FXP? XP+?

I've read a lot about this and the conclusion I got to is that with these small sensor cameras it does not make a lot of difference, probably none... Is this correct?

    MXP? FXP? XP+?

I could use the faster workflow of a lower bitrate. I'm used to an HV20, so I'm used to the 1440X1080.

Does it make a difference in low light situations?

    Thanks

I would never use anything but the best bitrate.
The only exception would be if I wanted to monitor my apartment for a whole day.

Ok, but I've read that it can even be worse to use max bitrate... Any truth in this?

Only if your computer and software can't handle it. Higher bitrates record and display motion better than lower bitrates. That's why firmware modification and "patches" are so popular with the Panasonic GH2. The maximum bitrate on that camera "stock" is 24Mb/s. Some of the patches take it up to insane levels of 150 to 176.

    Resulting motion is very smooth.

All the comparisons you seen among the different bitrates that say that there is no difference use static or minor movement in the subject.

i only use the top 2, they are pretty close.

When i first got my cam, i sat outside and recorded 30 seconds of every setting sitting in the exact same spot, sweeping to one side and then zooming to an object, i then went into the big screen tv and watched each one, there was quite a difference between each setting, with the least noticeable difference being between highest bitrate and second highest bit rate, but even then the difference was there.

i personally will NEVER drop below the 2nd highest for my videos, simply because if i do, I can tell the difference.

make a little test for yourself, thats the best way for you to decide imho.
