Default Game #438 - JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH

    Game version 1

    One picture from one movie:

    Rule 1:
NO IMAGE HOSTING ON EXTERNAL SERVERS.
Images for the games need to be ATTACHED to the post, and thus uploaded to our server.

    Rule 2:
TWO GUESSES PER PERSON PER POSTED PICTURE!!! Those two guesses are not allowed to be in the same post, NOR in a consecutive post. I.e. you can post one guess, then have to wait for someone else to guess: your second guess is not allowed to be immediately following your first guess.

    Rule 3:
The WINNER of the game can start a new game IN A NEW THREAD.
NO ONE ELSE (unless yielded so by the winner).

    Rule 4:
Once there's a winner, PLEASE post the correct name into the thread (spelled correctly, and capitalized correctly, and not in italics or bold face.)

    Rule 5:
The correct title format is: "Game" / space / "#" / number.
    Example: " Game #12" (without the ")
(no space between the # sign and the number!)

    Rule 6:
The film selected should be one that has had an international, theatrical release.
I.e. a made-for-TV movie only shown in the USA would hardly be a fair entry, as
    we have international players also.

    Rule 7:
These complete rules (1 to 7) have to be copy & pasted into each new game's first post.

    First cold, then hot....

Baesd on a novel, which was in turn inspired by a scholarly book.

There have been four film versions of the story, seven television adaptations, one stage production, a Disney ride, a water ride, a video game, a board game, and a radio serial...

    Good grief!!!!

I would have bet there were many other films with all those credentials, but obviously not.

"JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH", the 1959 version using L B Abbot's effects, is correct!

    Janke wins again!

I actually once attended a seminar by Abbott, in Stockholm back in the 1980s, I think he called it "Special Effects - Wire, Tape And Rubber Band Style" - just like a book of his that I have...

To be honest, the miniatures don't look too good in this film, especially the animals - gluing small horns on a chameleon is rather pathetic, at lest by today's standards!

If Al wants to host the next game (hey, I'll be generous and give you 16 hours from now, this time ) - then let him do it, otherwise, I'll cook something up tomorrow morning EU time...

Hmmm so that would be 8:00 PM my time I think. So if I go to bed now I'll probably wake up at 4 pm which gives me a few hours. Yeah I think I can do it. Just need to remember that darn film I watched!!!!
