    Default vegas 11 better quality?

    Hello,
I have just installed sony vegas 11 and i was told that i would get better quality editing using hdv tape than my previou vegas 8 i send my edited video back to camera and i still have all my edited projects on a hard drive my question is this does it mean i can just transfer these to tape without any loss in picture quality or will i have to re edit them again on vegas 11 to gain the extra quality what i have found with my other hdv edited projects is the picture sometimes jumps a little on edited scenes even though i use trimmer on beginning and end of clip, is this or was this a problem that vegas 11 as solved or is it the flaw of the editing programme. thanks

Editing back to tape recompresses your project. You actually lose quality due to generation loss. Why not just open your Vegas8 projects in 11?
Editing back to tape is meant for distribution or archive, but not really for reediting.

    I agree with cgbier.

Just reopen your Vegas 8 project and re render to see if there's a difference.

Personally, I'd not overwrite any of my old projects with newer so the way I'd do it is create a new folder for the V11 version and
re save into that folder, maintaining the integrity of my old version 8 files.

I doubt you'd get better quality using a newer version of the same NLE, as the original material is still HDV video. Depending what setting you've used at the time, try to render your project in a different format/with a different encoder and you might see a difference.
I DO IT BECAUSE I CAN. I CAN BECAUSE I WANT TO. I WANT TO BECAUSE YOU SAID I COULDN'T.
