    Default Raynox DCR150 vs DCR250

    Hey guys,

I've seen some comparison shots between these two lenses - primarily what I'm looking to use them for is some very tight shots I'm shooting some puppetry stuff with - I'm thinking that the 150 is the go as the depth of field is a bit too shallow on the 250 - but has anyone used both and can give me an idea of how much depth you can get on the 150?

    Cheers,
    Allan.

The shooting distance with the 150 will be only about 10" - is that what you're looking for?

If that's too close, you could get a series of three closeup lenses, 1-2-4 diopters, which would give you more leeway for the setups. Combined, they will give any diopter strength between 1 and 7 in steps of 1.

Would that give me the flexibility of swapping the focal distance around, but still allow me to do macro shots with the full range of lenses attached together?

I'd like to say, by the way - thank you so much for answering all of my silly questions. You are extremely helpful.

    Allan.

Yes. You could combine the lenses for whatever distance you want to shoot at, from 38" all the way down to 6". That's the beauty of a set of close-up lenses (diopters) of +1, +2 and +4.

This set would fit the HVXX cameras directly, 43 mm thread: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...Kit_1_2_4.html

Thank you very much. I've got a 52mm thread on the front as I'm using a HVFF - so I'll get some diopters that are a little bigger.

Cheers! I'll give these a go before I venture into anything bigger.

    Allan.
