    Default Game #433 - Wizards

    Game version 1
    One picture from one movie:

    Rule 1:
NO IMAGE HOSTING ON EXTERNAL SERVERS.
Images for the games need to be ATTACHED to the post, and thus uploaded to our server.

    Rule 2:
TWO GUESSES PER PERSON PER POSTED PICTURE!!! Those two guesses are not allowed to be in the same post, NOR in a consecutive post. I.e. you can post one guess, then have to wait for someone else to guess: your second guess is not allowed to be immediately following your first guess.

    Rule 3:
The WINNER of the game can start a new game IN A NEW THREAD.
NO ONE ELSE (unless yielded so by the winner).

    Rule 4:
Once there's a winner, PLEASE post the correct name into the thread (spelled correctly, and capitalized correctly, and not in italics or bold face.)

    Rule 5:
The correct title format is: "Game" / space / "#" / number.
    Example: " Game #12" (without the ")
(no space between the # sign and the number!)

    Rule 6:
The film selected should be one that has had an international, theatrical release.
I.e. a made-for-TV movie only shown in the USA would hardly be a fair entry, as
    we have international players also.

    Rule 7:
These complete rules (1 to 7) have to be copy & pasted into each new game's first post.

Since the two previous games had some animation, why not this one, too?

Yeah, this is just a teaser, easier frames will certainly follow!

Yet another grab, last for tonight, and a clue: This movie has a voice connection with Disney's Bedknobs and Broomsticks (and many others... .

    Very active, this game...

Here's a clue: A character in this cult film has the same name as a top-grossing movie of recent years.

New grab, hopefully there are some guesses when I return in the morning...

Al, it's not the same film - a character in this film has the name of another movie...

Yes, it was made in one of those countries "divided by a common language"...

Here's yet another clue: This film was rated PG in the US.

    New grab, too:

Time to end this game soon, so now for some easier screenshots... this grab should ring a bell, at least if you've seen the movie:

Speaking for myself, J, I've been flat out finishing a stage prop I was asked to make. The same old story - they tell me they'll want a prop but they can never tell me how it's going to be used, or what size it has to be, or what colour scheme it has to match, etc, until the last week before the opening night! And I have to go crazy getting it done by then... grrrrr....

So I've had no chance to check in and play at the moment.

Not that it would do me any good. I know I haven't seen this one. And I haven't got time to do any sleuthing.

    Btw, where IS everybody else?!!!

Last grab for today, and a little change of one word in this clue will get you there: WYSIWYG.

    Oh dear, where is everybody?

Here, if you know anything at all about animated features rated PG, these two shots should give it away:

    Picture 1.jpg Picture 7.jpg

If even those don't help, I can only give this clue: Fritz never carried the Ring - especially not in this movie...

I've seen the critter in Pic 1 somewhere. Probably on the DVD cover, I think. But I'm still pretty sure I haven't seen the movie.

If it wasn't winter down here, I'd think the northern hemisphere is in hibernation, it's so quiet here!

Prominently on the movie's poster, as well as on the DVD cover...

Here are two more shots, this is getting desperate, you know!

A clue, too: If you just pronounce in the plural what you see in post #16, you've got the name of the movie...

    Haha !

No, that's not a dwarf in #16, that's a prestidigitator, a magician, a sorcerer, an enchanter, an illusionist...

Clue: What word is missing from the list? That word in the plural, and you're there...

Yep, that's exactly the picture I've seen. The critter always reminded me a little of the reluctant dragon, kinda, sorta, a bit. Similar pear shape.

    Wizards. (1977).

I never would have got the other frames from my trusty visual memory bank, though.

Is the movie any good, Mister J?

    "Wizards" is correct.

Not very good, no. (I'm a Disney-style fan, to boot... )

Yeah, me too. They're streets ahead. I suppose it all goes back to WED's insistence on achieving that famous illusion of life, doesn't it. They didn't really need to do that to make cartoons popular. He just wanted to. There'll never be another Walt Disney.

Warner Brothers are a close second, though, when it comes to that, IMO. Their people are the only other animators who can make you almost forget you're watching drawings on plastic.

Okay. The games seem to have entered the doldrums lately. Do you think we should come up with something, for Number One's perusal, to make the games more.... something....I dunno... attractive to members who haven't played before?
