Default Game #431 - Allegro Non Troppo

    Game version 1
    One picture from one movie:

    Rule 1:
NO IMAGE HOSTING ON EXTERNAL SERVERS.
Images for the games need to be ATTACHED to the post, and thus uploaded to our server.

    Rule 2:
TWO GUESSES PER PERSON PER POSTED PICTURE!!! Those two guesses are not allowed to be in the same post, NOR in a consecutive post. I.e. you can post one guess, then have to wait for someone else to guess: your second guess is not allowed to be immediately following your first guess.

    Rule 3:
The WINNER of the game can start a new game IN A NEW THREAD.
NO ONE ELSE (unless yielded so by the winner).

    Rule 4:
Once there's a winner, PLEASE post the correct name into the thread (spelled correctly, and capitalized correctly, and not in italics or bold face.)

    Rule 5:
The correct title format is: "Game" / space / "#" / number.
    Example: " Game #12" (without the ")
(no space between the # sign and the number!)

    Rule 6:
The film selected should be one that has had an international, theatrical release.
I.e. a made-for-TV movie only shown in the USA would hardly be a fair entry, as
    we have international players also.

    Rule 7:
These complete rules (1 to 7) have to be copy & pasted into each new game's first post.

Here we go - tricky at first (I hope), but I guarantee it will become easier as we go...

Bedtime now, back in the EU morning!

I always keep a game or two in stock, in the unlikely case that I'll make a correct guess...

But, it's past midnight here - so, Goodnight for now!

    Guessed no guesses...

A clue: This movie has a close connection to a famous Finland-Swede. (Not me... just so you know! )

So far, all I can think is that the first frame is an "audience reaction" shot.

But what he's reacting to, I don't know.

Not at all... he's not in the audience!

What do you think about this, then - there are some things in this picture that ought to give you some clues to what it's all about:

Here's the last grab for today, and a couple of clues:

    Oscar-nominated director

This movie has a strong connection to a large and a small superhero - but not the ones you might think...

Oh, one more thing: I'm being de-, not ob-vious, here!

The words DePatie and then Freleng and then Gonzales come to mind - but it's too old for them....

Not too old for Mighty Mouse.... But no live-action films of MM....

Bullfights, artists, a very weird orchestra....

    Indeed!

Here, try this clue: Made in a country famous for dubbing their own films.

This may also get you on a better track:

... if not, the next image surely will !

I still can't figure out what an artist is doing behind the scenes at the opera! doesn't really look like an animator's bench he's sitting at...

    An architect...?

    Curious one...

    Igor?! Dr Frankenstein's little buddy?

    Confuseder and confuseder...

Despite your disclaimer on Page One, that looks a little like your style of drawing, Mister J .....

I only wish... I had barely started doing commercial animation when this film was made...

A clue: This episodic movie is a spoof of another episodic movie, made 36 years earlier.

This kitty's performance connects to the famous Finn mentioned in post #4:

D'OH!!!!!! Bloody hell! Have you ever had one of those times when one half of your brain stops speaking to the other half??!!!!

OF COURSE you couldn't have done that animation!!! I'd already decided the film was made some time in pre-history!!!! So why the %#$@ did I say that?!

    But anyway.... embarrassment aside......

You had barely "started doing commercial animation when the film was made"..... that puts is way later than I thought! You had your own studio in 1975, so I'll guess that you were doing pro work at least by then.

But the film looks like a silent from the Dark Ages.....

I was thinking the guy in Post #7 could be Roman Polanski. But it doesn't check out.

The live action is in B&W, while the animation is in glorious Technicolor.

Clue (this should make it easy!): Look up "Finland-Swedes" on Wikipedia, and you'll immediately see a mugshot of that famous Finn...

Also, Krute's timing in #18 isn't off by much - in fact, by very little...

    Another screenshot in the meantime:

    Screen shot 2012-07-04 at 20.49.08.jpg

If all this doesn't help, I'll have to start posting googlable grabs...

I do not see him. Cannot be that computer hacker, or that lady... those other dudes are too old. I can't tell if he's painting or doing some geology work. He is working in a theater and there is a band playing. I don't get tit.
