    Default Give me film ideas!

    Hey guys!

I've been in a shooting funk for a while. Been doing some commercial shoots, but nothing creative.

I think the problem is my creativity requires some sort of catalyst to get it going. To that mind, I'm asking for people to throw some ideas my way!

Basically I'm looking for an idea for a 2 or so minute short, just to stretch my filming muscles. Anyone care to throw some ideas my way?

    Cheers,
    Allan.

Try the strange attractor approach. Take a normal scenario that would make a short film, or use other short films you like, then add a strange attractor to it.

For example, do a short that is like Mad Max, but instead of gasoline we find out they are fighting over ice cream.

The fight for ice cream would be the strange attractor. The odd thing that doesn't mix but makes us want to find out what happens.

A forum load of wankers is invited on an all-expenses paid trip to St. Maarten by a mysterious benefactor.

    The story unfolds...

Why St. Maarten? I prefer the Pacific... (don't have too far to travel then )

I have often thought of a documentary where you by about a $300 (long haul) Greyhound bus ticket and travel for 4-5 days across the USA meeting all sorts of people and doing interviews. Take a good field recorder, mic, small LED light, and a small HD cam and you are set. The last time I was fortunate (lol) to be on a bus I was about 17 years old. Met some really nice, some even crazy, lost people who were just travleing and getting from point A to Point B. Each had something to look forward to though, this was the message I got (Family, Job, School, Medical Care, Wedding, Army, Etc.). Royalty checks accepted, thanks!

The best ideas comes from your experiences. You don't need someone to give you an idea, but you may need the to provide you a catalyst. If you want good ideas, experience things. I read that somewhere but you can use it and say you got it from me.

A veteran cop who doesn't play by the rules is partnered with a straight-laced rookie with an opinion on everything. Veteran cop's (wife, ex-wife, ex-partner, domestic partner, household domestic, etc.) is killed, leading to a rampage against crime. They take a break in a strip club, before making on last push against Mr. Big. A car chase ensues, and Mr. Big is taken out in a fiery car crash off of a cliff. The End

Hey, it's worked before, and if you can do it in two minutes, I'd watch it. Come to think of it, I might see if I can do it.
