Default How to find if the video was shot in HDV or 24p?

I shot multiple videos several years ago but did not get a chance to capture and edit. I just captured the videos but can not figure out if they were shot in HDV or 24p. Checking in the video settings, it seems that last setting was 24p. Is there a way to check whether the videos were shot in HDV or 24p?
If they were shot in 24p, would applying the pulldown affect their quality?

    Thanks

    I second that.
On the other hand, if it's NATIVE 24p, it will read as 23.976fps. If it's PF24, then it'll read as 29.976fps just like 30p/60i.
Best way would be to playback the tapes in-camera, so it would display it properly.

No. Removing the pulldown only removes the "duplicated" frames so you're able to edit "true" 24p footage.

A pulldown wouldn't do anything as there aren't any flagged frames ("throw me away") in "true" 24p.

Tried the mediainfo but it gives the same info for both 24p and HDV clips. I guess the only way is to examine the video. Thanks to every one who replied.

Try both clips on both progressive and interlaced timelines. You'll see it easily.

Easiest way to tell is this:

What looks the smoothest? 50/60i looks much more fluid, because of the extra frames. Motion blur is almost not existent for this framerate. 24p (or 30i in need of pulldown) will look blurry in high motion.

I googled it again and found a way. Based upon that, I opened the video in TMPGEnc 4.0 Xpress and watched it frame by frame. 24 fps clips had 2 frames with interlacing artifacts followed by 3 frames with no interlacing, and again 2 frames with interlacing and so on.
