Anything similar to the VG10? Size, low light, etc?

Hi,

I'm using an HV20 and an HG20, but I need a camera that performs better in low light. DSLR's are not easy to use.

It has to be light (max 2kg/4 pounds) and have a dummy mode for my wife to use it. I was looking at the VG10. Are there other cameras (any brand) that would be a good bet? Not pricey please...
