Default Where do I put "Inspired by"? For my short film.

I made a short film that was inspired by a lady friend, it is my first short film in a long time so for me to be inspired is kinda a big deal to me. It's kind of a slightly dramatic film, leaning towards 'lost' emotions.

    Anyways, I want to put.

Inspired by - blada blada blada.

Do I put this before the short film begins, or after. I know there's not really any rule to this kind of thing, but would it be too much to put it as the first clip in words?

    Thanks for any input.

Most I have seen so far was "TITLE" - a movie inspired by yada, yada, yada at the beginning
"It is dark the other side. Very dark!" - "Oh, shut up and eat your toast!"

If in the main titles, then after script, screenplay, synopsis, idea - then, inspired by...

But you can also put it in the end roll - if you have one; then it could be after the above mentioned titles.

The Finnish author Mika Waltari, who wrote the novel "The Egyptian" got his name in the tiniest type on the big poster... I think it's furthest down, at right:

I'd put it in the end credits the same way people put "dedicated to...".

If you want it to be "noticed" I would put it right after or in smaller font just under the title. But you can literally put it anywhere you want.

If you put it in the end title roll or group it will likely be "buried".

End credit roll, almost the very last thing, spaced out (in its own section)

I agree with both, in this case. Only thing is that if you want it to be noticed as Bruce said, the End Credit option isn't the best. Most people will stop it when it reaches there and won't watch until the end of it.
On the other hand, when it's inspired by true events, it's generally at the very beginning.
Or, depending what will be the final delivered media (youtube / DVD), you could make a little intro before it really starts. You can decide what's the best way to introduce it.

    All of the above. ^^

But its invariably up to you OP. It depends on where you feel its most needed. Sometimes we need to know right up front what/who inspired the movie for clarity or understanding. Other times, you just want someone to get the "credit" for it.

Unless it's a multi million dollar feature film I'd leave it in the end credit roll in a special section by itself.

    Thanks for the input, fellas.

Today, we created the first draft of the MUSIC we are putting in the film. The music influenced me to put the "inspired" quote as the very first clip. Otherwise I would probably have put it after the title, but it just all fits so well.
When you see it, you'll understand.

I'm planning on releasing it this weekend, along with a story of why I made this film and how this "inspirational" person re-motivated me to actually get my ass out and make films again.

    Thanks again.
