Default The MOST annoying email signature.

So why the fuck do I need to know if someone sent their shitty email from their shitty iPhone?
    This is so annoying.
I think I will close all my future emails with:

    "Sent from my computer"

I thought it was one of those perks of using the email app on iPhones and iPads. Someone who used to be involved with my radio station used to have that "Sent From My iPad" crap in his emails all the time... I was like "Wow, who cares!". Isn't it nice to have money to just throw away on an oversized iPhone?

Can the sig be disabled? If yes, then I should put THOSE instructions in my signature, maybe?

I just received an email where the message was shorter than the iPhone sig! Ouch.

    LOL.

And yes, it can be disabled by removing that line of text. You can leave it blank or put your own signature.

It's advertising, pure and simple. A bit like TV sponsors' message at the start of a show, "Brought to you by....".

No doubt it's built into the iPhone's software.

it is built into Mail as a standard sig. You simply exchange it with your own.

It's not only iToys though. I get plenty of emails from my boss "sent from my BlackBerry"
"It is dark the other side. Very dark!" - "Oh, shut up and eat your toast!"

Same thing happens with photos uploaded to facebook from Lightroom. Promotion, spreading their brand.

None of that appeals to me in any way.

I see a point in those emails if someone replies a business email. In that case, replying from a phone would be less formal. There would be abbreviation used as well. So that signature is more to tell the recipient excuse my typos.

My previous Tmobile phone (I think it's the HTC Sensation), it forces his signature like this (I forgot the exact wording).

"Sent from Tmobile, the largest 4G network in the US"

I erased it or changed it to something else. It won't save.

Taky, this is a ranting thread. Logic and reason are out of place here

iOS6 will allow you put in custom signatures for all your accounts. Right now, it's a one size fits all solution.

I'd never want an iPhone. I couldn't stand the thought that my phone is smarter than me....

Get an older iPhone which doesn't have Siri, then you'll be in the clear

    hahaha, @ cgbier's comment!!!

But to look at Lunchbox's logic: THAT is exactly the way some would look at it, but EXACTLY 100% wrong in my opinion.
    ESPECIALLY for business.

Either you write a message that makes sense, has no typos, and uses correct grammar, or you don't. What you used to write the message has no relevance to me, the recipient.
If you used an iPhone, an old Nokia, or an Amiga computer with a broken keyboard run from a bicycle-driven generator whilst traveling through the Sahara:
None of that matters, and it should be YOU who makes sure the message is as clear as it ought to be, as if it were written in an air-conditioned room with a super computer.

It's YOUR responsibility to write the message correctly -otherwise you are simply a lazy slob, using a high-school-quality excuse why it isn't.

"Oh yeah, this deal is 100% correct, except of course when I use my iPhone to communicate with you; then I might misspell half of it,
and you can't really rely on anything I wrote: directions were probably wrong, as were quotes and names used. Simply put: don't trust anything I do!"

Then Mal would probably find mine totally aggressive when I reply to emails from my BB!
I DO IT BECAUSE I CAN. I CAN BECAUSE I WANT TO. I WANT TO BECAUSE YOU SAID I COULDN'T.
