Default first time burning to a dvd with adobe premiere pro cs5...help!

    hi,
its my first time burning to a dvd with adobe premiere cs5, and so far no luck.
with cs5, i select: File, Export, Media: then on the export settings, i just select MPEG2-DVD, presets: Match Source Attributes to the highest quality and Use maximun render quality. And EXPORT, but for some reason, it doesnt burn straight to the dvd but it saves it to my computer in different files instead.......am i doing something wrong here?
If anybody can help me out, please show me how to do it step by step...as im just a first timer with adobe cs5 n this is my first project for a client...

    many thanks

Enore can import import your sequence directly.

There's a bunch of tutorials in the Holy Cow library: http://library.creativecow.net/series/AdobeEncoreBasics

You might also try youtube or the Adobe's own website as well. There are an abundance of tutorial in all of these places. Just keep searching until you find one that explains it in a way you can understand. I've only been introduced to disc authoring as a segment in a FCP 7 class.

It looks like you are either using a demo copy of Premiere or the hacked version. The full version of Premiere comes with Encore.

No. If you have a legal full version, you can use Adobe Dynamic Link to call to Encore to burn the DVD.

As far as I remember (when I was using Premiere much more) that you can burn to DVD straight from Premiere (without menus though). It convert to mpeg2, then ask for the drive and burn directly from there. Nothing fancy, but it works.

Edit: I would recommend to export in streams (audio & video separately) and burn using other software, like IFOedit to make it simple.

Encore doesn't work in the trial version iirc.
Quality directly from Premiere should be the same. You just don't have a menu.

Roxio has a pretty cheap alternative for burning DVD. On the Mac, it's called Toast. Dunno for Windows.

i dont mind not having the menu, can u tell me how to do it after going through the steps ive mentioned on this query? cos when ive done all those steps, it saves separate files image n sound onto my computer, but i dont know how to link them or how to burn them to a dvd afterwards....

You can just try change the export MPEG 2 DVD export. There is a multiplex option to generate a mpeg file with both audio and video stream. Then just burn that .mpg file to a data DVD. Many current DVD players can play back that way without authoring a DVD.

Well, what I do like (for free) is IFOedit: once you've rendered your .m2v video and .ac3 audio streams, you simply open them in IFOedit and it'll build the proper VIDEO_TS folder structure with everything required. You can even add subtitles, multiples audio track (be sure to calculate your bitrate= Max 10080kbps A/V muxed) as well as chapters.
    Simple to do: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/arch...dvd_page_5.cfm
