    I wish I could afford a Red.

    I have to admit I drooled over the Red as well. But I better learn how to use my HV20 first.

    I am wondering whether the RED mini (pocket proffesssional) camera might be the successor to my HV20...?!

    I haven't seen anything called Red at Best Buy. Who makes the Red and what retailer is selling them? Any idea how much? Is the camera actually painted red?

    No retailers carry Red and I doubt any will. Red is intended to "professionals".

    I can hardly wait to get my hands on RED serial #1880 (hopefully sometime in March, just about a year after the order was placed).

    <cough>
    I don't think #1880 will ship before end of May.

    My serial # is in the mid 900s, and I don't expect it before end of March; and haven't expected it until end of March since end of 2005.

    With all the problems they'll still face, I doubt they'll suddenly be able to push out that many cams without MAJOR problems.

    Heck, once they'll engage audio, they'll be faced with problems that will probably delay further units for a month!

    Expect #1880 sometime end of May to June 2008 at the earliest is what I'm saying...

    My estimate is based solely on what we've heard from the Red Leader (though of course all is subject to change). And for the record, it ain't my camera; I'm just the DIT/Data Wrangler who's supposed to figure out how to make it work ...
