Cool What has life taught you?

I know most of you here hail from somewhere around the middle 19th century, so your wisdom is almost as abundant as your grumpy attitudes and back pains. But, knowledge must be passed on and most of you are pretty darn smart, so I'd love to hear what lessons, values and great insights you've learned throughout your years. What are mistakes would you never make again? What are some bold experiences that made you more insightful or helped you grow positively? Help a youngster just starting life and, of course, complain about the hardships of the War of 1812, etc, etc.

Haven't lurked the forum in quite a bit, so sorry if there's a similar thread. Couldn't find one though.

Unfortunately, to make money and save it like a mad man.

Personally, to not to be selfish, to slow down and listen, and to observe people closely for clues as to their needs and wants.

And when that fails, as a pressure release valve, to be an utter cunt by making snarky, critical remarks on YouTube.

Do what you can, with what you have.

Think twice and cut once and put you heart into whatever you do. Do what is good that the heart loves and laugh a lot! Finally be kind to ALL!

Dont look for heroes or advice, self confidence is everything.

The business world is full of age discrimination, as you will discover in your twenties....those same oldies arethe same fools that are being eaten alive by 30 somethings who rule todays successful business ventures.

One more serious note: Never start smoking. I started smoking at 15 and stopped at 53. I'm 72 now and still alive but my heart condition is deplorable. It's a good thing my humor didn't suffer.

Dont just follow the "in" crowd and do the "cool" thing..do what is true to YOU !
Or as Krishnamurti put it so well “It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.” Sometimes it is lonely to step away from the general trends, the popular crowd, the accepted way of living , but in those quieter places you find huge gifts and surprises...and develop an inner strength to carry you through the challenges of life ...
Now about final cut pro x , yeah or neigh?!!

Drive a convertible over a mountain pass on a clear winter day.
Sail a small boat in a friendly race.

Yes. And if everybody observed #3, there'd be more room for people to enjoy #1 and #2.

All the money. All the gadgets. All the materials. Nothing can beat the fact of waking up in the morning, happy with the very few things that are really important for you (and in fact, the only ones): Familly, Health and Friends.
I DO IT BECAUSE I CAN. I CAN BECAUSE I WANT TO. I WANT TO BECAUSE YOU SAID I COULDN'T.

Of all these, the most important is CONTROL. You must have control over your own life, over your own choices, and over what happens to you.

Note, I don't say CONTROL over others. Just CONTROL over yourself and your own life.

If you lose or relinquish that control, you lose life. And maybe literally.
