Hey guys;
Just wanted to share this with you. Very happy with this, despite a few obvious problems.
I won't go into too much detail with it, just want to share it and show all my second ever music video.
Shot in one day, edited in maybe 2-3 weeks.
Yes, there is some masking issues that I couldn't fix.
Shot on the Pansonic GH1, 40mbps hack. Budget was about 200 bucks (food, straitjacket and mask).

The Korova milkbar sold milk-plus, milk plus vellocet or synthemesc or drencrom, which is what we were drinking. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence.

Regarding the issues in editing, if you watch the video again... there is a shot with all of them on screen in the straitjacket. The band member really moving around trying to fight his way out of the jacket... there are obvious masking lines that move around him. I couldn't fix these with any tricks I knew.
This was shot with only one straitjacket, so I had one band member dress up, stand in the shot and do his thing... then swap it with the next member. To save money, I made it an fx shot.

Looks good, nice camera moves during the band footage, solid editing, interesting footage to cut with the band footage. Well done.
Seriously didn't see an problems with the FX shot, and not going to look for them. If they don't punch me in the eye, then it's not a problem.
IMO, it would not have hurt the video to have a cute girl in there somewhere. Does it really need it? Not really, but my rule of thumb is better to have a cute girl in a music video than not.

The intensity of the band members comes through very effectively. For me, perhaps a number of closeups (even extreme closeups) would have raised the energy level even more. Liked the work with locations and color, and the editing.

I laughed because I could see the funny side of taking the comment out of context. Like if someone hadn't seen your video and knew it featured a rock band, the straight jacket, food and mask paints an amusing image, no?

Almost unnoticeable. I did, but it wasn't much apparent. (around 1:15 right?)
1) I would have try feathering the mask lines and maybe try to tweak the levels/contrast on both, so the line would have faded somewhere between there...Don't know for sure if it would have work though!
2) That was such a good idea! Simple with a static shot as well! Worst case, you can try to "shake" it in post after, if you don't want a static shot.
I agree on all that. More on the closeups though. It would have shown even more of the members intensity. Some closeups would have been quite great.
