Hello folks is there any easy way or a device that can help release a 43-58mm ring that seems a little too tight on my hvxx. It seems to be in the way of my raynox wide angle lens right now.

Hello folks is there any easy way or a device that can help release a 43-58mm ring that seems a little too tight on my hvxx. It seems to be in the way of my raynox wide angle lens right now.
Check the supermarket for twist cap wrenches. There are also filter wrenches available at B&H.
Or: look for rubber drawer liners, and use this to loosen your ring.

Whatever you do do it with caution. Don't try and manhandle it loose. These cameras won't take that type of abuse and something will break.
Remember that the filter thread on the HV cams is plastic...
Press your hand (palm) flat across the ring very hard and twist. Don't be too gentle - you have to get the stupid thing off your HV.

Dr. Benway, i tried the open palm strike but it appears the 'dragon' in me will not out. Is something wrong with my stance? hahah well it seems tighter than my open palm twist can ease- perhaps i will get the wrench.
If that fails i will get the step down thread so it reverses it, ie. get a 58-43mm step down. Hmm, so perhaps i buy both the wrench and the thread ring as they are both not that expensive and it is beginning to appear that i may need them down the line.
But will try one more palm strike after i consult my Scifo/Master.. Kaiiiiiii!
