    Default Digital Online Screeners

Just thought I'd share this with everyone. Could come in handy. I was looking for something like this, a secure online screener, to send out my film to others through the web. Not exactly what I'm looking for but might go for it anyway.

5 bucks per screener. Does that mean you go broke if a lot of people screen it?

What's wrong with vimeo with the download not enabled and a code to watch, change the code after they screen it?

... or YouTube, with a private link?

(But, you can of course download from there with suitable software...)

Cause they wouldn't get back to me right away and by the time they would, the link would be sent out to hundreds. That's what happened last time.

Hey everyone, I am with Indee and chanced upon this thread on a random search. I wanted to address a couple of questions brought up here and also pick your brains on improving our product.

We essentially charge for each email sent out. It doesn't matter how many people view it although some of our larger customers restrict to 3 views per screener to stem piracy. If you didn't care, you can email yourself once and copy and paste that link in to 20 (or 2000) emails and you wouldn't be charged anything within the trial period.

With Indee you have individual recipient restrictions, with Indee we generate a whole new page for each recipient you send the film to.

    The advantages of this:
    • You can grant Dufresne 18 days to view the film whereas you grant Lebowski only 24 hours to view it and the video will expire at those times respectively.
    • Reports by person - you can tell Dufresne viewed it 2 times, Lebowski viewed it 3 times whereas Renton has viewed it 168 times (probably means Renton is sharing it indiscriminately, kill that copy immediately without affecting any of the other screeners you have).
    • Address book - we currently have a database of over 3000 buyers and film financiers world wide and it is constantly growing.https://img.skitch.com/20120801-r6f5...98x2694chr.jpg

Can you let me know what would make it exactly what you're looking for? We're having a great time building this and want to give you guys the best product we can.

    Thanks a bunch.

Hey! Thanks for coming on here and clearing up a few questions. That's really nice of you. Honestly I haven't been to your site for quite a while since I have finished my film and opted not to send it to anyone after all. But I actually do need to show it to a few people (they're trustworthy people but it's probably better not to send them a Vimeo link) so I might just use your service within the next week or so.

By the way the $2.50 price drop is amazing!!!! It's really worth it.

I don't remember what it was. Might have been the 3000 buyers and film financiers. Can they see whatever I upload???

Indee just has an address book with 3000 buyers/financiers to make it easy for you to target who you want to send it to. The user decides exactly who they want to send it to individually.

Oh I see, thanks for clearing it up. I thought it was mandatory to send out or something. I'll sign up for the 10 free screeners!

So I'm getting around to sending out a few screeners. Just wondering: Does the expiry time start when the recipient clicks on the link? Or does the timer start once I email it to them?

Once you got the link, it's possible to download it via JDownloader. But I think you wouldn't be able to download a private link though.

You could always check for something that limits the viewing with the IP adress, but even so, the URL could be sent to others after. Even with encrypted URL links or password protected links, if one want to spread it all over the internet, you're pretty much f*cked! Only way would be to generate different links but this would be endless...
I DO IT BECAUSE I CAN. I CAN BECAUSE I WANT TO. I WANT TO BECAUSE YOU SAID I COULDN'T.

I have not fully checked it out, but IMDB seems to have a private screener facility in conjunction with WITHOUTABOX (same ownership?)

    It might be worth exploring?

The clock starts as soon as the video is sent.

To the best of my knowledge, Withoutabox screeners can only be sent to festivals that are a part of Withoutabox.

I sent out a screener to a friend and set it for 3 days. Guess what, it's been one week and they didn't even attempt to click on the link yet. Wish there was a way to change how many days just in case they don't get to it quickly. I'll just send them another one.

Love the service though, very impressed so far and the quality is great!!! The IMDb/ Withoutabox screeners are horrible quality.

We're a little wary about extending the date of a previously sent screener as it is ripe for abuse to have that option.

We made a change to the system to address your problem.

With the new update you will be BCC'd on all the emails you send out. So if you notice the recipient hasn't seen the film as yet, you can forward the email you received to them as a reminder to view it before the expiry date.

I hope this addresses your point.
