adobe premiere pro cs5 playing prob

hi,
everytime i click on something ex volume or other things it stops the playing mode of the cs5 when playing the sequences from the timeline..ive tried looking for the setting to override this but i cant find it. Is this standard with cs5?

Yes; it can't walk and chew gum at the same time. However, their is light at the end of the tunnel in that it is possible with the updated CS6 version. That is, provide your computer is properly configured.
