In that case... 'The Lord of the Rings' (1978). Post number 9 did make me consider it myself, but the other screenshots were not helpful, at all...

If it is indeed correct I'd like to invoke rule 3, stating:
    Rule 3:
The WINNER of the game can start a new game IN A NEW THREAD.
NO ONE ELSE (unless yielded so by the winner).
And I'd like to hand the task to Krute, in case Janke feels like 'The' should really have been added.

Thanks, BarteS. But if Janke rules that you won by giving the full correct title, and if you then opt to give me the next game, I'd opt to forfeit that privilege and give it back to you....

I don't really have time to compile games at present. Don't know when I will have, in fact.

Default The Lord of the Rings

Krute, I feared you'd get it... - but as you state in #27, BarteS will do the next game (if he wants to), otherwise, I declare it an open-for-all!

    So, how about it, BarteS?

Re my "bizarre" clue: "in 1409, Weathertop was surrounded by a great host from Angmar. Arveleg was killed and the Tower of Amon Sûl was burned and razed." The 1409 is of course in Tolkien's Third Age...

I don't have any screenshots left, so I give you the poster, instead. If you're curious, the whole movie is on Youtube...

Is the movie any good, J? From the little that I watched on youtube, it didn't impress.

Nope - "Qualitywise nowhere near Disney", I think I said... so I agree with you 100%.

    It's open to all.
I actually was just curious, I visit about half the forum and yesterday I felt like walking around in other boards and stumbled on this topic. I was hoping to do Krute perhaps a favor, but I didn't expect he would pull this one on me. Funny thing is Krute mentions he has no time, it shows. His postcount is the worst, if you count me out. But he still is in the k's.

In Australia, when we say "Is it any good?", we mean does it have any redeeming features at all?

Hmmm... I guess I could take the next game but I'm not sure if I would be able to update it on a regular basis. Unless I have at least 20 snaps ready to go, then I wouldn't have to keep popping in the DVD.

Let me see what I have. I only have a dozen to choose from hahaha

Well, the whole thing is rotoscoped, so there is no "real", creative animation in it...

Yes. Excessive reliance on rotoscoped shortcutting is a pretty good sign of general slackness in an animated movie, I reckon.

You know, I would have gotten this one from the second image. As soon as I realized it was animated, I was like, this is The Hobbit! or Lord of the Rings! The third one made me more positive and the fourth was so obvious!!
