second shooter for wedding
Hello guys. I never had a second shooter/assistant so I don't have contacts or cost info. I'm putting together a proposal for a close friend for photo and video this August in San Diego CA.
Do you know someone who can help me? or how much do you usually pay second shooters?

Does he have to bring his own equipment?
My rate for a second cam was normally 50 bucks/hour. My second shooter had his own business license. He got 40 bucks. It went as cost of sales into my books.
However, we were a group of four nut cases with cameras. Whoever landed a gig, got the money, the others were contracted then, so at times I was the main guy, at times I played the second fiddle. Worked out great for us.

I'm thinking to rent either a XH-A1 or a 7D, I have one HV40 and a H2 recorder, I will be more than happy to pay if the shooter has a camera.
How much is the pay, how many hours?
Contract is on low low budget, so I will be shooting just one camera and for 2 hours.

Thanks Lunch and Almohada, I will keep it in mind for the next one.
I supply the camera and I pay my guy $40-125 depending on hourrs, but he also drives since i dont have a car. plus I buy dinner after usually.
