Default Tascam DR-100 MKII on sale at Amazon

I hope it is okay to post this. There is a 15% off sale today (no idea how long the sale lasts). The regular price is currently $270.00. The 15% off equals $40.50. Free shipping is included. I also got the AC power adapter (PSP520) for $22.10 at the same time to take advantage of the free shipping.

The DR-100 is a fantastic piece of kit. I'd highly recommend it to anyone thinking of getting a digital recorder.

It's the Tascam version of the ZoomH4. If you don't need the XLR connection on the recorder, and want a cheaper model, I'm using the DR-05 and I'm getting nice results with it. Only 3.5mm connectors, but when I use it with my JuicedLink CX211, it gives clean audio recordings.

Is there an opinion about whether the Zoom H2n is a viable option?

No XLR as I recall but it seems to be $100 or so cheaper than the H4n.

    Ah. Nevermind.

I found some recent posts where Drapeama comments that he prefers his Tascam DR-05 over a H2 (not sure if it is H2 or a H2n), but it sounds like the H2n would be regarded as a viable recorder option for the financially challenged.

Even the Zoom H1 is a viable recorder option for the financially challenged... ;-)

It's a bit downgrading but I never used the 4ch option. The Tascam looks less like a toy and feels more professional. The price is a also to consider.
Basically, for a stereo recorder, the DR-05 is hard to beat.

The H1 is of course a good recorder. Both are the same price. But I think the Tascam is and look more, well built.
Just compare the functions with prices:
    Tascam DR-05
    Zoom H1
    Zoom H2
    Zoom H2n
