Default Pulldown removal with Apple workflow troubles

So, the first time I tried the suggested Apple workflow it seemed to work out fine. Just tried it again and it seems i'm still getting interlaced artifacts.

I've uploaded a very short 23.98 clip of a dripping faucet. Watch the droplets as some of them just become a series of horizontal lines. I arrowed through, frame-by-frame a few times to get a closer look.

Any thoughts on this, anyone? Have I somehow overlooked something?

    Update:

I went through all of my captured footage and only three clips had this problem. I tried them again in Compressor, double-checking my work, and got the same results. I was begining to think maybe there was a problem with the footage itself.

Then I tried JES Deinterlacer and it knocked out all three like a champ.

When I read abut this workflow (not just in the Apple support doc) several people said they had digitized tons of material this way and never had a situation where Compressor didn't find the cadence and correctly de-interlace. Supposedly that was the domain of Cinema Tools.

At any rate, I guess I should consider simply using JES Deinterlacer from now on...

    Anyone else experience this?
