Default Canon Teases “Exclusive Screening” at NAB 2012

Do you think this has anything to do with teh Canon 4k camera in production?

Is Canon being really stealthy and about to release the new cam, or do you think we have a ways to go yet?

I'm really curious to see the specs on this 4k cam and if it competes with Scarlet price wise or not.

They need something "in-between" the 5DM3 and C300 price-wise, so a 4K DSLR at 9k could be it...

Hrmmm. I really don't care. Anything made past the RED is useless. I'll stick to my HV20 for years to come.

I want a T3i follow-up without the moiré, hd-out while shooting + continuous shooting & dual SD slot... so prolly something with two processors... at around 1k EUR pricepoint. AND please let it use all T3i accessoiries so I don't need to buy new batteries and grip.

The 4k dslr will probably be as much as the C300, just because of that resolution.

That would still be very competitive with the Scarlet if you can use inexpensive media, batteries, it comes with a viewfinder, xlr input, etc.

My feeling is that's if it's a 4k HDSLR...it will be at least as expensive as the C300, if not more. Mind you in theoretical resolution only...seriously considering hacked gh2. Canon has this thing about market segmentation, crippling cameras, etc. Shouldn't whinge, but as on a low budget, don't have to be happy about it! 4k would help me lose either tripod or bollywood steadicam while trekking/climbing, saving around 5-10kg! steadying in post....but still waiting on dslr w/ clean hdmi out a la d800, as I feel not long before chinese or ors come up with a cheaper version of atomos ninja...minus potential d800 problems (moire, jello, low-light)...still jury is out until we actually see d800 footage via hdmi (ditto mark3 with intraframe codec). We've been waiting a long time for this dslr 35/FF to give us clean hdmi..
