Yeah, but who's got the energy to do that, at this time of night?!
OK, sheer desperation now...
The Caine Mutiny
Duck Soup
Ride the Hot Wind, (yes, that's what I said)
Out of the Past
Tom and Jerry - the Musical. 2

Aaaaaaaaaahhhh, dammit!!! Of course I know the last one!!! I just forgot that I knew it....
That's it, that proves it, my memory has definitely sunk to the depths!
We need to end this by now, so here's a dead-giveaway set of grabs - the game ain't no fun without players !
Clue for #3: I've already told you the boy's name... what else do you see?
The Caine Mutiny
Duck Soup
Not Tommy Kirk
Still Without a Clue
Anchors Aweigh.
The art director in those credits for film #4 was also the art director for the film I guessed in post #26..... not that it helps me.
Ugarte will dash to the finish now, I hope.![]()
The Caine Mutiny
Duck Soup
Tommy and the WildcatWhere Danger Lives
Anchors Aweigh
But Janke, the reason these games keep dragging out is you keep forgetting this part:
"Game version 2, 5 somewhat easy recognizable pictures". You seem to make it v1 x 5.
I'll do the next one shortly...
There's a movie called "Tommy and the Wildcat"?!!
Oh, so there is....Well, I'll be!
![]()
Haha! Still, it looks like a very pretty movie. The scenery alone would be worth it. And IMDb reviews are very positive.
I think maybe Mister J picked it because it's a very "Disneyesque" film. I almost looked up every Tommy Kirk movie in existence!![]()
That didn't look quite like Faith Domergue in post #18, either. And I know that little gal's face very well!!!
I think Janke 'shopped a different face on her!
jkng, of course....
In the two or three first grabs, I admit i like to keep even v2 a bit difficult.
But with the easier grabs and clues coming the second day, it really should be solvable with a minimum of effort.
If Ugarte had been here, I think this would have been done by post #13 or so...(Not that I made the game for him...)
Honestly, i think we have too few players...![]()
I think we have too few players because the rules only give the players' responsibilities, but not the hosts'.
Maybe if there were some obligations that the hosts had to meet, it might make the games more accessible.
For example, what if Mal stipulated the genre and decade of each game? Say he says, "Okay, next game must be a drama from the 50s"; or "Next game has to be a comedy from the 90s", I don't think anyone would have any trouble finding a suitable film to put up.
It does two things; it takes one of the decisions out of the hosts' hands and also alerts the players to the kind of film they have to guess.
I think one of the things that slows games down is the fact that players sometimes have trouble getting off the mark. If they could hit the ground running, I think there'd be more competitors.
Oh, yes, AND we should make the screenshots in V2 a bit more revealing, as Mal has done... to whet the appetite, so to speak.![]()
OK, if you, too say so...![]()
Let's see what happens with #404...
Not a bad idea, but I would have difficulties in selecting movies, as I normally just pick whatever is on top of the pile!
Yeah, I know. This one was hard though. I am not sure why I didn't get ANCHORS AWEIGH earlier. I ended up googling it. (Although Krute beat me to it, anyway)
i think with there being 5 it messes with your brain!![]()
I go through my movies, looking for one that I hope will work.
If you added that new rule, in cases where the host can't select a movie to suit, he forfeits. That gives someone else a chance to play. As it is now, the next host just picks any movie because it's his turn. If you don't have, say, a 60s comedy, (or you've already used them), you forfeit, and the person who has got a good choice of 60s comedies gets to play.
A side-effect of this rule would be that we'd all eventually get to know other members' favourites, and that's good. A little extra social interaction there.
With "Anchors Aweigh", I was in the same boat!Yeah, I know. This one was hard though. I am not sure why I didn't get ANCHORS AWEIGH earlier. I ended up googling it. (Although Krute beat me to it, anyway)

Tom and Jerry the King were right there on that stage in front of me, and my brain was shouting "You know this!!! But brain not speak hand....
I think even if you decide to reduce the number to three or four, it would be good to add that other rule as well.
Oh, and, can we please talk in class, sir?![]()
