Sweet! Hey, it might feel like I'm cheating on my ole' HV20... banging her younger (hotter) sister. But at least I'm keeping it in the Canon family!

    Gonna pick up one today!

Great post, I am going to have to give this a shot.

Ordered a sx230 last week in order to have something on hand with time lapse ability after finding that they run about $220 new. I had planned on another $500-$600 camcorder to fill this void. Good little camera. Vimeo has some really nice shots with it using the zoom and built in stablization, and some indie film stuff. It is way under the radar for what it offers you, like a Stealth Bomber in your pocket.

This is sweet! I might be getting my hands on an SX30is (for free! yay!). If not, I'm gonna have to look into this 230! Excellent low cost mod! Thanks for sharing!

Could definitely stand to be "de-essed". But were all guilty of having horrendous audio in one of our clips at least once. What matters is if he makes it a habit.
