Thanks Janke! I really appreciate it... and wow that is an AWESOME project you've got going there! As a fully qualified freight train conductor myself (no longer in service, also due to past health issues) I just love it! I suppose that hobby competes with the photographer in you for your time, huh!

Man, HD, I hope you get well better soon.

Janke, I work on a similar project, but that will only be 7-1/2cm... and built from polystyrene ;-)

I'm on random times... Not as much as I'd like to be though... My sister is still off from work, so I must milk the cows by myself... Three months tomorrow....
My skills are vast, rendering me capable of too many things.

    How IS everyone?
You should come and play the Games more often, then, Dan. Could use a few more participants.

It's stinking hot up here and with the never-ending rain it's driving me nuts.

Al, an asterisk beside your name in the "Currently Active Users" list at the bottom of the page just means that you have checked the "Invisible Mode" option in your Profile in Settings.

Nobody can see that you're here, except Mal and yourself. You will see your name in the list with an asterisk beside it.

Don't let that be even a little worrying. Both still photography and film making keep one involved in "imagery". For the last three decades I've been reading in pro magazines and amatuer publications that the line between the two has been blurring more and more. Just about everything you learn in photography will transfer and apply to film making.

Vincent LaForet, the guy who launched video with DSLR "madness" into the world, was a still photographer.

Could easily be both. Maintain skills in both areas as best you can, but for now make the most of the photography learning process.
