Sitting on my porch with a beautifully, cool blond one and a cigarette, enjoying the evening breeze.
Europeans are at work, Americans in bed. This place belongs to the Pacific right now, you, me, Daniel, H&R, Mal, the Doc (well, the latter two not really Pacific)...
"It is dark the other side. Very dark!" - "Oh, shut up and eat your toast!"
Well, that's alright, then.
I edited that after I saw there are currently 139 unregistered users here. And since then, I see you and jet, stvor, jr4089 are here too.Europeans are at work, Americans in bed. Whew, that's a relief! Thought I'd come to the wrong place!!

Yep, waiting for a text message to see if I'm working tonight - shattered so I am hoping I don't have to. Just finished a clean install of Windows 7 - it's only way to get rid of crud with that fecking OS.
The afternoon's wearing on... almost the holidays for me; school closes for a whole two months so I am off to NZ to take my 8-month-old son to meet his family there.
I'm here, almost snowed in... check this: http://testbed.fmi.fi/history_browse...adar&t=15&n=15
But - I've chosen so that you shouldn't see me in the user list.
Go tell that to Bob..![]()
I just got home.
Did some [very short] filming of the workshop & staff for inclusion in our corporate video. Was a laugh.
Now supposed to edit it; but instead sipping some Absinth and watching son's MW3 recordings.
Busy with escuela.

Yeah, but you're "Da Mal" ...
- and I guessed as much, I see myself starred, too, but not anyone else...
Only some -3°C / 27°F - that's not cold. (FYI, I've experienced -40°C / -40°F - the scales are the same at that point, only.)
But the snow... it's almost like a fog, at the moment.
Here's how the shopping center bus stop looks like at times like these:
I know you're used to it and all, but I'd love to live in a country that got that much snow!
Damn tropics with its two seasons - Summer and Summer, Part 2!
At the moment here, you can't mow the lawn without risking heat stroke!
I'm exaggerating a bit, but not much.
I'm here, I just don't get on here all that often anymore. Tonight specifically, I was enjoying a Jack Daniels and Cola stubbie with my girlfriend while watching "The Devil's Double". Not a bad movie, but I could hear the british accents on a lot of the actors.
Not to offend anyone, but rarely is there more here that interests me... the only real active threads are the Mac Vs. PC thread, and of course the religous one when its not locked.
How IS everyone?
Shattered. Exhausted. Exam week at school - pretending to observe students while reading. Holidays are almost here but I need some deep sleep now but I don't want to resort to drugs. Otherwise okay. A bit excited about a possible 5D MKIII release. Reading as much J.G. Ballard as I can find. Slim pickings here though for quality English novels.
And you?
Healthy, happy... and alive! Studying photography at school at the moment, to help me better understand my camera and to improve my skills as a "director of photography". Enjoying it more than I'm enjoying film making... which is a little worrying.
Maybe my call is as a photographer, not a film maker? Hmm...
Don't let that be even a little worrying. Both still photography and film making keep one involved in "imagery". For the last three decades I've been reading in pro magazines and amatuer publications that the line between the two has been blurring more and more. Just about everything you learn in photography will transfer and apply to film making.
Vincent LaForet, the guy who launched video with DSLR "madness" into the world, was a still photographer.
Could easily be both. Maintain skills in both areas as best you can, but for now make the most of the photography learning process.
