    Default One Time View

Hey guys, I'd like to send a video to someone... a film screener... but I'd like it to be a one time view. I've seen sites out there where it gives you a one-time-use link to something or a one-time download. Anyone know of a way I can send them a link to a video where they can watch it only once and preferably have no way to download and save it. Don't want them showing this screener to anyone. Watch it once and it vanishes.

I found this site: https://onetimesecret.com/ but if I put a link to the screener it will just direct them to the link and they can save that link.

Any web page can be viewed as source code using the browser. It is trivial to find the file address in the source code and download the file.

If you don't want everyone in the world to see something then don't put it up on the web.

What if you put it on Vimeo with a password protection, uncheck 'allow other people to download.' Then either delete or change the password after it's been viewed by the person you want to show it to?

The Korova milkbar sold milk-plus, milk plus vellocet or synthemesc or drencrom, which is what we were drinking. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence.

The person can be downloading it while he / she is watching it with any number of Firefox plugins. Google "download private vimeo video".

It can't be done (the view once only thing, that is).

I see, that's useful to know. Fortunately, I have the opposite problem. The people I do work for have to be coached through 'right click and download.' MANY TIMES, in some cases.

How about making it a streaming FLASH VIDEO, and then delete it again.

our own website has this feature.

There's a motherload of stream catchers on the web. Streaming might work if you assume is too stupid to find the right software.

Exactly, the ONLY way to guarantee the recipient will only watch once is to show him/her the movie yourself, and then shoot him/her immediately after.

If it were one of Parker's movies, you'd need only provide a loaded gun, the viewer would be happy to blow his own brains out.

    Sorry, couldn't resist

Hmmm, I guess I could upload to Vimeo. But I need to send it to every one in the cast. Which is like 5 people. I could send it to them a day at a time and change the password for each person OR upload it 5 times and send each person a specific link with their password. Once they get back to me after they've seen it I'll remove the video. I still don't trust that they'll get back to me right after they finish watching. I've shared a few clips with them and one time a certain cast member probably sent it to his whole email list or posted it on Twitter for the world to see. That was a very very very very rough cut just a mere few days after shooting. I know this because the video views soared to the hundreds and because he told me he shared it with a "few" friends.

Did it at least go viral? Put your clips on YouTube and you can retire. Just shoot a clip or two once in a while....

There's an idea to promote your video: Mark it top secret, eyes only and it will go viral.
