So I setup a SME Server (Linux yeah!). Seems to work, but I'm a total network-noob, so I was wondering if someone could check this site for me, and see if it resolves:

Are you looking for a whatever.com? If yes, then it didn't work."There, there.", Yossarian said.
"It is dark the other side. Very dark!" - "Oh, shut up and eat your toast!"
Really, you get "There, there.", Yossarian said.???
IT WORKS...at least I got this far. That is hosted on my computer here. Cool.
MANY thanks for confirming this, cgbier. Now i can continue setting it up......
Now I want to read Catch-22 again!![]()
It works from the snow-covered North, too...
Finland doesn't have ACTA yet?![]()
"It is dark the other side. Very dark!" - "Oh, shut up and eat your toast!"
We do...

I really shouldn't complain - I receive a little over 100 euros every year from "residuals", i.e. copyright payments for stuff used by schools and libraries... the money comes from a surcharge tax on empty tapes, CDs and DVDs.
Wow, my last royalty check was $3.39.

Well, in case anyone was wanting to setup their own server using SME Server: Do it!
It's a great way to host your own website and email server. Fairly easy to setup, at least the initial part (you download an ISO which includes the server and the linux software).
I found the trickiest part was getting the settings of the router (a Netgear Firewall VPN Router FVS318) TOGETHER with the settings of the server to be just right, in order
to do exactly what I want it to do.
After some fiddling around, I am happy to say it all works very nicely.
Also, it helps we have a static IP, although even with a dynamic IP it's not much harder, just adds an extra step in getting proper DNS resolving.
I'll end up probably hosting more websites like this. All you need is a[n older] computer, and internet access...
Very cool!
(And a BIG THANKS to Janke and cgbier for "beta testing" the site, and for letting me know that it worked from other parts of the world!)
Oh, that's why HV20.com wasn't available for a couple of minutes.... I was on cold turkey already![]()
"It is dark the other side. Very dark!" - "Oh, shut up and eat your toast!"
I'm actually thinking of it as with the soon to come demise of moblieme I'll be without a hoster soon.
"It is dark the other side. Very dark!" - "Oh, shut up and eat your toast!"
Ahh, no, that is a separate issue. The SME Server isn't hosting HV20.
The HV20 thing was related to me trying to update the CHAT Software to a new version, and there is a big issue with that software version ( as we found out!).
I can recommend the SME Server though - it's awesome!
One of the whackiest books I've ever read in my life.
"It is dark the other side. Very dark!" - "Oh, shut up and eat your toast!"
Yep, whacky, alright!! But brilliant!
I love the soliloqy that comes just after he says "There, there" to the wounded guy, (Snowden; I forgot his name too). All about the vulnerability of human beings. Must google it now just to read that bit again.
Edit: "Man was matter, that was Snowden's secret. Drop him out a window and he'll fall. Set fire to him and he'll burn. Bury him and he'll rot, like other kinds of garbage. The spirit gone, man is garbage."
That's heavy.![]()

Krute, now you got me an idea what to take to bed tonight.... haven't read it in years.
"It is dark the other side. Very dark!" - "Oh, shut up and eat your toast!"
I have read the book, but also enjoyed the movie immensely. They did a good job, and Alan Arkin was fantastic.
Mal, now you got me an idea what to check on iTunes tonight.... never watched it.
"It is dark the other side. Very dark!" - "Oh, shut up and eat your toast!"
I hope you'll like it, CG. Personally, I love it.
Since you've read the novel, you know what to expect. Just don't expect everything that was in the novel. That would be asking too much.![]()
But I doubt anyone could have made a better film of the novel than Mike Nichols.
Watch for the part where Art Garfunkel talks with the old Italian. And the bit where Nately's whore "surprises" Yossarian; and the part where Hungry Joe gets in the way of a plane; and when Yossarian dreams of swimming towards the naked Nurse Duckett, and Dreedle's WAC..... Time I watched it again myself, I think.![]()
Ah, finally an intelligently made film. It was pure indulgence!
Thanks for the hint!

But as this thread has moved to a catch-22 discussion: I have been wondering how many pounds of weed were used to write it since the first time I ever had this book in my hand. You must have smoked something to come up with stuff like that (which is not meant to put down the literary quality of this book - in contrary).
"It is dark the other side. Very dark!" - "Oh, shut up and eat your toast!"
I think Heller just has a natural sense of the absurd, Al. And a brilliantly incisive way of looking at everything. Some of the conversations and the witty repartee in the book, (and the film) are pure gold. Irrefutable logic that at first sounds like nonsense... just brilliant.
