doesn't compressor support a dolby certified encoder? compressor is only 50 bucks, right?

what gets me is people using on board miss on a consumer camera to not only record 5.1 sound, but then to try to turn around and mix it as 5.1 with any real depth or space.
well, i can't answer for hp from a single user, but they get some fire under their butt when they are dealing with a customer that has more then a handful of z800's.
one of my better experiences locally was with asus. they replaced a keyboard on a laptop for me quickly, i drove up to their service center, they did the work and gave it back. i got in the car and checked it, the keyboard wasn't flush on one side, but at least i got a new keyboard. :/
I've just hooked up a new mouse, the old one had been on the fritz for quite a while. I couldn't find the same one I had, a microsoft 5 button, but I found something similar; a comfort mouse 4500 for the princely sum of ¥1,800 ($23 US). I was easily able to download the correct software from MS, the old software didn't apply the program-button settings to the new mouse. After installing, the old settings were carried forward. No need to set it up again.
Credit where credit's due. Good job MS. The only thing I can fault is the horrible packaging, but it's a pocket change item and the packaging is in the trash now.
The Korova milkbar sold milk-plus, milk plus vellocet or synthemesc or drencrom, which is what we were drinking. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence.
Software for a mouse? That's a new one on me. Is it because of the extra buttons or something?
i use the logitech software with my g9.

A mouse? Iiiieeeek, that is soooo 80's
Lion is easier to use with a trackpad.

2010 and younger MBP, Lion, FCP X... speed editing!

Actually I have a 5.1 cam and it does a pretty reasonable job at 5.1 (for a consumer cam). Front left and front right separation is pretty good. Front to rear is not bad either. Rear left and rear right separation falls apart a bit though.
And mixing isn't required either. It comes out of the cam finished for playback

Vegas Pro 10 - Volume User (500+ Site Licenses) $165.37
Vegas Pro 10 - Volume User (100 to 499 Site Licenses) $264.58
Vegas Pro 10 - Volume User (5 to 99 Site Licenses) $330.73
Are those prices for each license ????? If not, the pricing is ridiculous.
How do you get one copy of Vegas Pro 10 for $165 ?

The actual price you'd have to pay for what Bob just linked is
$82,685.00
or $165.37 x 500 minimum orders
ohhhh man, patience is a virtue! OWNED!
Yes... well you know what they say... if it seems a little silly then it probably is.
I mean really... if you were going to spend 82 thousand on a program, wouldn't you at least want it to be the latest version???
I'm not sure what B&H is doing there because the Sony site doesn't even list site licensing of over 50 units but If you note, the quantity box defaults at ONE
Bob, that's normal. When I order tapes in bulk from B&H, the box also is at one, and my final price for the single tape only changes after I type in the quantity I want to order.the quantity box defaults at ONE
Hmmm, never mind. I can't change the quantity in the cart. Can't imagine that Sony gives away 500 licenses for 165 bucks....

Not necessarily. I don't know when exactly 11 came out, but if it is rather fresh, you, as customer, are still beta testing, so you wait for a stable update.if you were going to spend 82 thousand on a program, wouldn't you at least want it to be the latest version???
I wouldn't use a brand new app in a production environment with deadlines and stuff.

B&H is an official Sony retailer. I don't think they'd risk doing something that isn't sanctioned by Sony. The bulk licenses are on "special order", so they must be coming from Sony, who, of course, don't sell it through their site anymore. They want to sell the new stuff and leave the old one to their retailers.
... and Sony is not as crazy as Apple pulling FCS from the retailers' shelves when FCP X came out.![]()

I think the idea is that Sony would rather get a customer who can only afford $150 than to not get a customer at all for $500. There's a good chance that person will eventually pay for upgrades and/or other products.
Although I couldn't find it, at some point I saw B&H offering a "limited" number of these licenses.
I'm probably one of the more senior members of this forum, and I'm doing well with Platinum. I recently thought about switching so I could get plural eyes, but then I got off my ass (figuratively) and attempted what I wanted to do manually and that only took me an hour. I therefore saved $300-$600 on pro + pluraleyes.
As far as track limitations, there are plenty of workarounds for that.
As far as surround sound, I think the film industry should just drop that altogether. With exception to the nerds, most people don't bother with any of that crap anymore. That is so 90's.
