It always amazes me how much folks who never used them "know" so much about Macs.
"It is dark the other side. Very dark!" - "Oh, shut up and eat your toast!"
So what if it works?the 'Apple way or no way' ideology which is so deeply engrained in the company.
"It is dark the other side. Very dark!" - "Oh, shut up and eat your toast!"
I see this as deflection. If you don't want to discuss the issue, you don't. Your opinions about teenagers or grammar are off topic IMO. A request for clarification would have been more conducive to discussion. You could have said, didn't you mean you "don't" use Apple products?
Instead you chose deflection and personal attack.

You know that there actually might be folks who like closed systems?
Ever heard of IBM? I loved to work on the AS/400 - completely locked up. Couldn't even connect to an automotive scanner.

Absolutely. Those people buy Apple products. I don't.
I was glad when Davinci Resolve released for the PC and Adobe released CS5.5 which many people like over the latest FCP release.
There's nothing you can do on a Mac you can't do on a PC, so the choice is open or closed system. I like open, you like closed.
It's great there's a market choice for both of us.
I'm looking at Red the same way. They have proprietary media, batteries, that are WAY more expensive than most other products. But if you buy a Red camera, you need their batteries, their media. If it weren't for adobe cs 5.5 you'd need a red rocket card (I"m sure Red isn't happy about that).
Compare that to the Digital Bolex in the works, which will use off the shelf media cards.
I prefer the off the shelf media cards. It's a more open system, and that sort of product appeals to me much more.

Would have been interesting, for sure. A "Y2K"-type bug coming 8 years late...

While you're there you can check out the iPad 3. Don't bring the kids, they're sure to want one![]()
